I’m proud to say that I’m a fourth-generation resident of Cowlitz County, born and raised right here in our vibrant community and currently raising my two kids alongside my beautiful wife, here in Longview.

After graduating from Woodland High School and Central Washington University, my professional journey started at Rathdrum Parks and Recreation in northern Idaho, where I grasped the significance of community engagement and the pivotal role it plays in fostering a thriving quality of life.

With 16 years dedicated to public service, I am steadfast in my commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all residents within our community.

Cowlitz County holds a special place in my heart, and I’ve witnessed firsthand both the triumphs and challenges we’ve encountered over the years. Through it all, one thing remains clear: our community is resilient, and together… united we can overcome any obstacle.

Why I’m running for this office

I am seeking this office primarily to affect an increase in efficiency and collaboration with all County departments, other elected officials, and the citizens they serve. The citizens deserve a Commissioner who will demonstrate initiative and pursue excellence in the management and execution of the duties of this office. It’s time for a fresh perspective and energetic approach that will keep pace with the rest of the County’s operations as well as the needs of our small and large businesses in Cowlitz County.

Public Safety

My top priority is to support our sheriff’s department and our fire department.

Prioritizing Mental Health

I prioritize mental health as a cornerstone of progress. I pledge to work toward destigmatize mental illness, ensuring that seeking help is met with compassion, not judgment. Recognizing the interconnectedness of mental health with other social issues, I will strive to improve access to care for all, regardless of socioeconomic status, through increased funding and community-based initiatives.


Simply put, we are in desperate need of affordable, attainable, and workforce housing. Every person deserves a safe, affordable place to call home, and it’s time we take meaningful action to make that a reality. By investing in infrastructure and implementing policies that promote affordable housing and new development, we can ensure that every member, whether they’re newcomers or longtime residents, of our community has access to stable and secure housing options.

Economic Development

A successful future must include growth in our business community. I believe it’s important that the county fosters opportunities for a diverse profile of professions and supports all types of businesses, from brick & mortar, remote, trade and vocational, to commercial. A strong business community creates jobs, both full-time and part-time and provides services and products to residents and visitors alike. A thriving economy provides an increase in sales tax revenue, which is reinvested in programs, projects, and opportunities for community well-being.

I champion the concept of “Quality of Place” as a fundamental pillar of my vision for progress. Quality of Place encompasses the physical, social, and environmental factors that shape our communities, influencing our well-being and prosperity. I pledge to prioritize initiatives that enhance our neighborhoods, parks, public spaces, and cultural amenities. By investing in infrastructure, promoting sustainable development, and fostering inclusive and vibrant communities, we can create places where people thrive and flourish.

Throughout my professional journey spanning over a decade, I’ve honed these essential qualities and demonstrated my commitment to service and leadership in various capacities.

Leading teams isn’t merely about giving orders; it’s about fostering an environment where each member feels valued and empowered to contribute their unique skills and perspectives. In my roles, I’ve cultivated cohesive teams, inspiring collaboration and creativity to achieve shared goals effectively.

Initiating programs and projects requires vision, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of community needs. I’ve spearheaded initiatives that address pressing issues and enhance the quality of life for residents, leveraging my ability to listen, innovate, and execute plans that make a meaningful impact.

Managing substantial programmatic and operational budgets demands fiscal responsibility and stewardship. I’ve demonstrated proficiency in financial management, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and transparently to maximize their impact and benefit the community as a whole.
